Customer login required to us Contact us form

I'd like to know how to configure the contact us forms and pages so that visitors to my site don't have to create an account and or login when sending a message via the "Contact Us" or "Ask a Question" forms on the site

Neither of those forms (in an unchanged Zen Cart) require login prior to submission, although if you're really running Zen Cart 1.5.3 (released on July 4th, 2014) then the ask-a-question is an add-on.

Correction, my apologies. I am using v1.5.7c. Is there a setting somewhere in the admin portal where I can configure this

I've just sent a test message through your Contact page and what you're seeing is not a requirement to login/register in order to send the message but rather the form submission resulting in a 'Whoops! Your session has expired' page (which includes a login prompt).

https://www.automation-network.co.za...age=contact_us is a secure page with a SSL certificate but any subsequent pages are not SSL-secured, I would think that the issue lies within your /includes/configure.php (post the contents of that but HIDE any passwords/usernames) and/or possibly a SSL redirect in an .htaccess file.

thanks for the feedback. I am not a developer at all so I have no experience with SSL. is there a setting in the Zen Cart admin portal where I can adjust/fix this?

To check that SSL is enabled correctly in Zen Cart, you can follow these instructions in the Zen Cart Docs - https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/insta...rt-in-zen-cart

That may solve your problem. If not then there might be something to be done in cPanel - I don't use it so I can't be sure.
