Setting up shipping - not sure what the best method would be..

Hi there

I need some advice please.

At the moment i am setting up my shipping etc.

So, for the UK i have sorted out the shipping to be free and I am happy with that.

What i am stuck on is where a customer pays for shipping by weight and location.
Example 1 - john orders 2 items and the total weight is 1kg and the location is USA
Example 2 - Lisa orders 2 items and the total weight is 1kg and the location is Italy.

So, i know that the postage to the US is more than the postage to Italy.

I am using the Royal Mail shipping module on my cart.

Any help would be useful.

I would go with a zone table. You'll have to do your homework and determine your rates by weight for each country. It's some work. It will never be perfect, some will be over and some under. However, it can easily be tweaked for this going forward.

You are right, i think i need to add in the Zone tables all the countries that I will be posting too.

I will get started on the Zone tables and then see what i can do after that.
