Default How Can I Find/EditDelete a Catalog item by using the only ID#?

How Can I Find/Edit/Delete a Catalog item by using only the ID#?

Took over a ZenCart installation from a guy who died. I have a couple of products that show up when the customer searches for them on the site, and they can order them with no problem. But I can not see them/edit them under the Product Price Manager.

I can create a new product using the same Model#, and of course, a different ID#.

If I type in the Model# under the Product Price Manager, I can only see the newer one. The older, 'hidden' one doesn't show up.

So is there anyway to get to the older one to delete it?

    Thanks for any help.

If you upgrade, this is allowed in newer versions (as far back as 1.5.8 I believe). Certainly in 2.0.0.

I have actually tried twice to update, going up one fractional version at a time, i.e., 1.5.1 to 1.5.2, and the site crashed. Reloading the backup brought it all back. So no go, there.

Looking at building a new site and moving database over. But that's down the road.

No need to go to intermediate versions. Doing it like this works like a charm, and is especially recommended for very old versions like yours:

Thanks. But my employer is not real happy about doing this, since the previous guy tried it and the site was down for almost a week.

So is there any way to fix this problem without upgrading?

    Thanks.

FIRST: set up a development copy of this shop to test things on.

While crucial to do that update/upgrade, it also seems that there may be some database issues which are preventing finding items when searching.

You follow the above steps before really touching your live site and your down time should be an hour or less to support final in place testing.

Just realised the post I referenced did not detail the possible issue.

A product has a master category id...where it "lives". This is defined in the products table.

There must be a matching entry in the table products_to_categories.

When a product is linked, it has additional entries in the table products_to_categories.

Check this for the product(s) that are misbehaving.
