Hi, my server seems to default to 707 on everything, at least that's what shows up when I view a folder's properties through my FTP program...

Did you tried switching your CHMOD permissions from your FTP or from your cPanel access ?

If it's from FTP, I'd suggest trying from cPanel instead (File manager), since most of providers, (for an unknown reason), rather leaves higher permission levels over cPanel rather than FTP.

Hmm, I did it from my FTP program (FileZilla), I'll have a go at it through cPanel and see if I get on any better, I'll keep you posted...
