No problems, I've attached a default robots.txt file- Just change the bit that says "YOUR_WEBSITE_ADDRESS" to match the address of your website and ftp it to the root folder of your zencart site.

What do you think about this? I think better to do as the Google - he knows better

I agree- As Google Webmaster is the tool that everyone's measuring your mod by, better to be Google friendly at the moment. I'm going to check in a few of the Google groups though to find out why the sitemap.org header is not being followed.

    Great mod by the way.

Looking forward to it- One item for the wishlist (if it's not already there): If the robots.txt does not exist, create a default file with the sitemap: directive added. If it does exist, see if the sitemap: directive is in it- add it if not and set to the correct sitemap.xml if it is.

I've checked this issue out- It's all over the web. Anyone that's written a sitemap program have come across it. Even Google's Sitemapper uses this attribute (and then causes issues in Google Webmaster). I cannot find any official response from Google regarding the issue, apart from a French Google Group post where someone said it was a clash between the attribute name and the tag name <URL>.

On the plus side, while it causes a warning in Google Webmaster, it does not stop the sitemaps from being processed.

    Andrew,
I just removed the check robots.txt.
    Let's discuss it.

    Sure.

In the meantime, I asked for some clarification on the Google Webmaster Google Group regarding the URL tag. Thread is here:

Just wanted to report that it appears to be working properly. Thanks again to both Andrews for the help.
