    Reply from ace-host is

The server does not change your settings, and no script on the server will run as 777. All 777 scripts will return a 500 error through a browser as SuEXEC, a security measure we have in place, will not allow 777 scripts to run.

the techs over at ace-host have set all my files with the proper permissions and zencart still fails to get past the database save.

I think it has to be a PHP 5 issue, but I'm so green I croak.

Bah, I was trying to edit a post that I left and ended up with only the last part of the post being listed. I didn't want you to get your install in trouble.

I know what the issue is here...

    1. delete the full file upgrade that you have on your server.

    go get the zen-cart-v1.3.0.1-changed_files_only.zip

    2. open it and put all the files that are INSIDE the outside zen-cart-v1.3.0.1-changed-files-only folder into your shop files.

    3. Run the install and just before you start, set the permissions on your configure to 755.

this should have you up and running in a matter of minutes.

Running the "changed_files_only" will do a complete upgrade from 1.2?

Let me ask this question from my first post. The upgrade directions don't specify where to put the installation files before you run them. Where should the install folder be in relation to my shop directory? Maybe i'm doing something wrong here.

What files in my 1.2.x shop do I need to keep? I can redo my template and layout, i'm more worried about upgrading my database.

The Changed files for v1.3.0.1 only is for shops that are already upgraded to v1.3 ...

Any other version needs to use the Full Set of v1.3.0.1 ...

Note: Backup both your database and website before attempting an upgrade

NOTE: I strongly recommend doing a test upgrade on a test directory and a test database of your site before attempting to upgrade a Live shop ...
