    Default New Site using IIS and helm

    I installed a new site to IIS. This is my first IIS install.

    The site does not appear to use the stylesheet.

    http://greenjug.net

    and the admin area gives me an error 500 when trying to display the page.

    I have uploaded all of the files again and tried a reinstall, but I still get the same thing. It is probably something simple, but I could not find anything in the archives.

    Thank you in advance

    Chances are your IIS configuration doesn't like the various .htaccess files included with Zen Cart.

    You might try renaming them, and then building security workarounds with IIS settings in lieu of the .htaccess method of protecting your site.

    Thanks for the info DrByte.

    I really hope that I can just talk the customer into switching to my servers, but he has this "web marketing genius" that he thinks is better than anyone and he can only work on his server. :lol

    It is a shared server, so with any luck they won't be able to make the changes. :)

    *sighs* l have got the same problem, and my client won't move hosts. After reading the support forum & this thread have renamed 3 htaccess files and the stylesheet on the front page of zen is now working, also in the admin (finally!)

    however, l am worried now that l am leaving the store open to some kind of attack, l am not really sure what the htaccess files do, can someone advise what l should be putting in place (or suggesting to the hosts that they put in place) to protect the store?

    l have renamed the htaccess files located at:
    /wwwroot/store/admin/includes/
    /wwwroot/store/admin/
    /wwwroot/store/includes/

    Why anybody would want to use IIS for a dynamic php based programme is beyond me

    IIS= ASP
    Apache = PHP

    Vger
