Modules will not install

Database patch level 1.3.0.1
Php 4.4.2 (Zend 1.3.0)
MySQL 4.0.22

When I attempt to install a module, any payment or shipping module, I receive the following error:

1062 Duplicate entry '0' for key 1
in:
[insert into configuration (...
With the applicable values showing in the configuration statement

The database is originally an upgrade from a 1.2.7 database. Everything else is working, I am just not able to install additional shipping methods or payment modules.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I fixed my own issue...

When I restored the database via sql - the configuration table did not have the configuration_id set to auto_increment. Updated in phpMyAdmin and changed the "EXTRA" setting to auto_increment and all is well!!!!!
