Default classic or default template? which one is betteR?

alrite, i have a dilemma right now.
i have been doing customizations by copying the classic template and then renaming it as my customname, and went about doing my customisation from there on.
now i just realised that the default template is supposedly the improved version.
question is should i drop the classic template and go with the files from the default template?
and i did a couple of other mods as i have installed news article management, admin profiles, and super orders.

what is the general consensus if any?? cause im worried i have to modify a lot of files if i drop this classic template mod.

any opinion suggestions would be awesome!
    thanks,
    normann

    btw im using 1.3.01.

in 1.3 definitly use the template_default as a roadmap.
Dont just create a copy and rename.... you only want to move the files that you have actually changed.

classic template is backwards compatible, so you lose the single table design

Why do I not have an entry for the default template in the admin? I have Classic, my custom, and blue, but no default.
