Thanks Rod,
I'm not sure what you mean by the TARE weight, but I've found the solution
I changed all references to grams to Kgs and changed the setting in AustPost module to Kgs also plus then changed the weight of the items to a fraction of kgs eg
was 22grams now 0.022kgs. Seems to be fine now.
Thanks
Oh, ok, in that case I can confidently say that the TARE weight is/was your problem.
You have found *A* solution, but not *the* solution.
In other words, you have done manually what the "kgs/gms" toggle does for you automatically. <grin>.
As I said, the TARE weight is/was (probably) the problem. The default setting is "3" (if I recall correctly), and if the Austpost setting is set to kgs, this '3' gets multiplied by 1000 in order to convert to the grams that are required by the servers. Result - parcel that should only weigh a few hundred grams ends up being calculated as a little over 3kgs.
It doesn't really matter which weight scale you actually use, just remember to keep *all* weights consistant. To 'properly' solve your problem, all you really needed to do was to change the tare weight from "3" to "0.003".
If most of your products are in grams, then that is what I would personally be using in *my* store.
Likewise, if most of the products weigh over 1kg, then it just make sense to use kgs rather than gms as your standard weight format.
Also think of your customers. Which would give them less cause to think ? 22gms or 0.022kgs.
Just my view.
Cheers
Rod
I jus wanna say thank you to you tekfix for adding on the pages to be edited. It s easy when ya know how haha, but yep brill stuff. thanks
i am using zencart 1.3.8a.
i want to use the attribute "weight" field to another code, that is something like item code which includes numbers and letters.how can this done.
From the products table the products_weight field and from the products_attributes table the products_attributes_weight field are used all throughout the code and would not make an idea choice of fields to use ...

What is the name of the table and the field that you added?
Where are you trying to display the data that is in this field ... "in the web" is a little too vague for me ...
