Default Problem with admin after upgrading

I upgraded to the 1.30.1 patch recently. I had not started using the shopping cart with the older version yet on my website, so I decided to just reinstall using the full version. The version I had on my site had installed like a breeze, but I have had installation problems with this one.

Anyway, I ran into problems, and eventually re-installed once again, making SURE that the php files and .sql files were uploaded as ASCII. That seemed to work to some extent, however after the installation takes place, and I click to go to the admin area, I get this message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zen_get_top_level_domain() in /home/appherit/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/init_includes/init_tlds.php on line 13

I can go into the store part just fine, it's just the admin area that I can't. Can someone give me a clue as to what might be going on?

Try re-uploading All of the Admin directory again.

Will I need to re-run the setup files again?

You having a missing (or corrupt) admin/includes/functions/general.php file, and if you are missing others, Kim's solution should fix those (before you encounter them).

You should not need to re-run the setup unless there was some error in building the configuration files.

Thank you both for your quick response! I am working on reloading those files now. I'll let you know how it goes.

    Peace

That seemed to take care of it. I am going to do some more testing in the admin area now to make sure everything works ok there.

I now seem to have another problem. I went into the demo store and browsed some of the items that the demo puts in, but when I click on one, I get this message:

1109 Unknown table 'p' in field list
    in:
    [select count(p.products_id) as total ]

Is that one of the .sql files that needs to be reloaded?

    Thanks,
    Craig

That sounds really familiar, but couldn't find the exact solution in search (always good to do, btw). I got it, but cannot remember if I just searched for it (typo) or if I reinstalled.

You said you had installed but not yet configured 1.2.7, then installed 1.3.0.1 over it? It is starting to sound like not all the files transferred or failed to overwrite existing files.

Since you haven't really gone too far into it yet, I'd really advise emptying the database (drop all tables), deleting and reinstalling all files, making sure to apply the 1.3.0.1 patches found here:
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34103

That way you know you are working with the most current files.

Actually, when I decided to upgrade, I deleted all the folders and files off my server and deleted the My_sql database altogether. Then I created a new database, uploaded the files and it has led me to here.

I suppose I could start totally from scratch again, but it would be nice not to have to do that

or in other words: 'did that already' :)
Then it's a typo somewhere. You need to narrow down just where the error occurs.

Here's what I'd do to find it:
First search via the developer's toolkit

I tried, but I must have fixed it even in my backup because I don't see it.

If it does not appear on category/product lists, but only on product, then you start searching in the modules/pages/product/
    etc.

If I could get the error to register on my system I could track it down. :)

Hmm... it sounds like you're a bit over my head. Are you referring to a typo in the php files? If so I really don't know php very well enough to know if I've found it :-)

In any case, I guess I'm going to just have to start from scratch once again.

    Thanks for the suggestions though.
