now i want to to change the title
    change via
    /includes/languages/english/meta_tags.php
As always, BACKUP that file BEFORE changing

Thank you I needed this too!

Since this is not in a custom directory, is there any worry that it may be over written in future upgrades?

    Hi Zahoor,

Here are some suggestions for customizing your site.

Zen Cart is built on a system called ‘overrides.’ When you have worked hard on customizing your site you do not want to lose all that work when a new version or cart update comes along. So, follow the guide for creating a custom template and it will ‘override’ the stock template after any updates.

So, all of the files your change should go in a special folder you create for your template. Something like /custom or /my_template. Your new custom template folder should only contain files that have actually been edited for your site. Copy the files from template_default, edit them, and make sure they are in the correct ’my_custom_template’ folder.

The Wiki is a great place to start. However, since the forum experienced an emergency reload, many of links have not been updated. Be patient.

Absolutely. Elsewhere on this thread Sermonzone provides general links that explain the override system. In this particular example the recommended approach would be to put your amended meta_tags.php file into a directory called /includes/languages/english/your_template_name/ This removes the risk of them being overwritten when you upgrade.

    Kuroi, thanks much for clarification.
I had put the file inside lang/custom rather than lang/eng/custom -- that explains why my attempted override wasn't working correctly.
