Shipping based on # items, service, location?

I have been trying to figure out how to implement shipping as we do here: http://zionsgate.com/shipping.asp

Shipping is done by number of items, and the service you want (Pri, 1st class, Media), as well as where you're located.

Can anyone shed any light on this? I downloaded some files before this site changed and I haven't had much success. I know someone out there does this sorta thing......

You would need to clone the item.php such as itempriority.php item1st.php itemmedia.php

Then you can customize each copy to read as you want it to and change the pricing per item ...

Totally with ya. I need to know exactly where to put that new file. Actually, there need to be two files, right? One in the Languages hierarchy for the Admin UI's sake, and one that has the actual class definition in it, right? In the class def one, I do a simple find/replace on "item" and change it to "itempri" or something and save it.

Right?

If code for item.php lives in /includes/modules/shipping ...

If the language file for item.php lives in /includes/languages/english/modules/shipping ...

I'd probably clone those bad boys in the same location ...
