Default UPS Shipping Module

Does the default UPS module work properly? I seem to be getting a rate that's higher than it should be. The store has some very light-weight products, and adding in the weight of the box, a 1.6 pound ground shipment is coming up at $7.52. Seems high. If I try it on UPS website, it comes in at $5.80.

Any suggestions or ideas why this is happening? Something simple I'm missing? The site can be seen at : http://takemehometoys.com

Did you peek at the Tare settings in the Shipping/Packaging?

Thanks for responding. I did check those, and have even set those to zero. Here's what I got:

United Parcel Service (1 x 0.45lbs) (Ground) $7.42


Doesn't that seem high? I don't understand what to do.

Did you check the charges on UPS for the ship from and ship to addresses to see what you get?

My 0.5lbs from Ohio to Ohio Ground is $7.42

You are right. It is $7.42 if I select "Retail Location" as a drop off point. I forgot to mention, but I have been selecting Daily UPS pickup, which is what this business has, and that makes it 5.76. So $2 cheaper. Can I fix this in some way?

Did you look at the UPS configuration settings in the Modules ... Shipping ... Edit ...

There is a setting for RESidential or COMmmercial ... brings the Ground down to $5.60 ...

Thanks! I should have seen that. There's an option for UPS Pickup Method. I must have been blind.
