    Default Cant login after Apache upgrade

    I'm sure this question has been asked before, but seeing the numerous calls for help (that have all been answered, it seems).. Well.. I'm overwhelmed..

    Moving on..

    When running Apache 1.3.x, php 5.1.2, mysql 5.0.x.. I could login to zencart without an issue.. However, I forgot to include curl support for authroize.net support.. After fighting with ApacheToolBox for a good hour (They really need to upgrade the versions there).. I decided to go the "Easy Route", and install the Fedora RPMs..

    Okay.. Uninstall everything I had except mysql.. now yum install httpd, -devel, php, etc etc etc.. Tweak the httpd.conf to head to the right directories..

    Okay, Zen's running.. Can get to the index without an issue.. Go to login.. After hitting "submit", I'm taken back to the index, and prompted to login again. Zen -> admin -> whos online .. 2 entries.. both my IP, both 4 seconds ago.. one is processing login, the other is headed towards index.php

    Any ideas?

    False alarm, of sorts.

    Posted my "I'm losing my mind" message, and then started digging again. Found the config option Configuration -> Sessions -> Recreate Sessions.. Turned this off.

    Can now login.

    But why? Zen didnt change with my upgrade, nor did any of its configuration..

    Depends on the version you are using of Zen Cart ... and other quirky things ...

    Recreate sessions works in v1.3.x ...

    But there are still those odd servers where this is not working based on some configuration issue or another ...

    But I am not into servers so I really could not tell you what specifically to look for if you do have v1.3.x ...

    Might try killing off your cookies, clearing the cache, store sessions and cache in the database, change the setting ... start a new browser ... see if it likes you better ...

    cd /www/htdocs/cart/admin
    grep -i version *.php
    ...
    version.php:define('PROJECT_VERSION_NAME', 'Zen Cart');
    version.php:define('PROJECT_VERSION_MAJOR', '1');
    version.php:define('PROJECT_VERSION_MINOR', '3.0.1');

    (surprised this wasnt in techsupp.php)

    Cleared the cache, cookies.. Even tried with both IE and FF.. Had the problem everywhere I went until switched "Recreate Sessions" off..

    Still boggles me that Zen was good before the Apache upgrade..

    Can't login to Admin after reinstall [was Re: Cant login after Apache upgrade]

    Hey!

    (Hi Ajeh)

    I had to reinstall the Zen Cart I was working on. Nobody could tell me how to fix a problem I had with it and the only way I could figure on my own to fix things was to wipe things out completely and reinstall from fresh.

    Zen Cart 1.3.0.1

    Server Information
    Server Host: infong374 (217.160.230.156) Database Host: db400.perfora.net (172.19.55.20)
    Server OS: Linux 2.4.28-grsec-20050113a Database: MySQL 4.0.25-standard-log
    Server Date: 05/16/2006 21:55:34 Database Date: 05/16/2006 21:55:34

    Server Up Time:
    PHP Version: 4.4.2 (Zend: 1.3.0)
    HTTP Server: Apache/1.3.33 (Unix)
    I cleared out all the files (databases?) in mySQL database. Anyway I also detleted the entire folder on both my system and on the host and unzipped a fresh copy and uploaded it. I'm on broadband, but it still took a while.

    I then went step by step through the instructions, not wanting to miss one through familiarity. The shop starts up just fine, but when I try to log on to admin, it gives me my system message that it couldn't find the file.

    The Zen Cart runs beautifully with the demo information and without the glitch that had been in the initial install.

    My other Zen Cart, one I set up to test and learn on, is working fine and I can still get to admin. But with the new one - same server, different domain, different directory - when loggin on it can not find the next page, the admin page I assume.

    It doesn't matter whether I use Firefox or Internet Explorer.

    There was some problem with 1&1 this morning but that seemed to clear up and I have access to all my pages on there now. I might suspect that they had done something but then I'd figure my other Zen Cart would have the same problem.

    I really don't want to have to reinstall. I am getting tired of setting and resetting those permissions.

    That plus having to re-enter all teh shop information.

    Possibly there was a change on the host... but perhaps I made a typo. Any idea where I can look? I find it strange that the installation could find the login page, but the login page can't find the admin page? I have doublechecked the spelling of my admin name and the password.

    Help!

    I've installed this a few times and had a 50% rate on whether I was successful or not.

    Sincerely,
    Darrell

    Looks like your secure URL is bad or if you have 2 directories that you need to assure that both the secure and non-secure have the full version ...

    If you could post your /admin/includes/configure.php from the server without your username and password that would help ... :)

    I actually didn't set up any secure site things. I haven't set up a certificate and such yet and so I checked the boxes not to include them as recommended. I hope to set things up for secure transactions at a later date. There shouldn't be any secure directories or urls.

    But my dyselxia is such that I can occasionally reverse things... I noted the default was what I wanted so I figure it didn't come into play.

    here is my /admin/includes/configure.php sanz username and password:

    Scratch that ...

    Reload the files for the /admin

    You are getting a bad page and sounds like missing or bad files ...

    Hi,

    I gather the red bits below are what direct things to the admin folder?

    define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.ureshiimono.com');
    define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.ureshiimono.com');
    define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.ureshiimono.com');
    define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://www.ureshiimono.com');

    // Use secure webserver for catalog module and/or admin areas?
    define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'false');
    define('ENABLE_SSL_ADMIN', 'false');

    // NOTE: be sure to leave the trailing '/' at the end of these lines if you make changes!
    // * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL)
    // these paths are relative to top of your webspace ... (ie: under the public_html or httpdocs folder)
    define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/store/admin/');
    define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/store/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/store/admin/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/store/');
    Is that where the path for login.php comes from?

    "store" is the subdirectory that the store is installed in.

    I only partly understand what the php things do? "programmable hypertext page"?

    Just trying to make sense in between watching NCIS.

    Would looking at login.php be useful? In case something glitched in the upload or install?
