    Default Missing Shipping and Billing Info in Orders

    Hi,

    last night i sat up and applied the 1.0.3.1 update to my live site, i used BC to merge my modded files, and all went smoothly....

    however, with my first order this morning, i noticed that the customers details and address are now missing from the order view, and also the invoice and packing slip views.....

    i did notice some small bits when i was merging the files, but i took the new updated files as being fixes (me not knowing much coding, i didn't know any different)...


    is there anyone who has had same problem, and knows how to fix it ???

    i can paste more info if needed.

    ok, i have sat an looked through all the admin settings, and have descovered that in Admin > Customer Details - The address line 1 is missing along with some other fields that i can't even remember...

    i am really struggling to get this back up and runnig properly, i have looked over all the changed files, and compared them again, but to no avail...


    please please someone help me!!!

    ok, i have just set-up a test account, and gone through the checkout procedure,

    when it gets to the billing address section, it is blank....

    so i guess that the account information is not updating the address fields on the checkout templates....


    not being a code type of person, i have no idea what section of code is missing or needs changing...


    i am in dire need of some Technical advice and some magic.......

    Your create account is not working right ...

    Either you cannot create an account if you make an error on login that takes you to create account or you get errors if it makes the account ...

    You are also using Classic for your template and should be using your own template and overrides directories for everything or things will be wiped out on an upgrade ...

    but how does adding the new files to template_default effect my "classic" template?

    does it mean i should copy the files to my classic template folder instead?

    i am confused, everything was fine until i upgraded to 1.0.3.1 .......

    how do i fix... ????

    1 you should not be touching the /templates/template_default files ...

    2 you should be using a different template than classic and not use /templates/classic

    3 you have broken the relationship between the tables or blocked the data from being added between the customers customers_info and address_book tables

    The cause of this I do not know as I am not sure what all you have changed ...

    One way to fix this is to backup your site and database ...

    Make a proper templates and overrides directories and use them where ever you have touched a file ...

    After you have copies of your changed files in your new templates directory ... reload all of v1.3.0.1 and it will overwrite any files that should not have been touched, including Classic template ...

    Then we can see if the code that broke is template related or what ...

    thanks Linda,

    i will start backing up my files, and follow as you have said.

    i would like to use classic as my template, however i am guessing u mean i should copy this a "my template".. if this is so what files do i need to amend to make the copy called "IceTemplate" ??

    sorry to be a right pain

    Make a nice template and overrides called /motorblue

    Follow the rules on using the /motorblue to override any file that you have touched where ever you see the /classic directory you add your /motorblue and add the changed files only to that directory ...

    Then when all is copied to your new template and you have installed it via the Admin ... and run the Layout Boxes Controller ...

    Reload all of the original files from Zen Cart v1.3.0.1 ... and everything will be fixed again ...

    NOTE: I would recommend before loading the files that you delete the /includes/templates/classic directory and let the original one reload ... so you have something to test against ...

    Thanks Linda,

    i finally got it sorted, i ended up re-installing everything. Saved a lot of hassle, and i have now made a proper overides and template folder of my own, so no more messing up core zen files! yay!
