on orders lower than...

I've seen on another store that they have some freebies but also to stop people just getting freebies and not purchasing anything the seem to have something that says
"on orders lower than $2 we require a payment of $1" or whatever they choose to have!

Can anyone tell me how to do this?? I have figured you can do a one time fee for each product but i don't want that, I just want it so if people want to get the freebies then a donation to the site is being made

Ok so I've done this BUt it isn't working?!?!

It says the fee there BUT it isn't actually charging it??

nope! 2 people have ordered and it hasn't charged them!
It's on free items and it's only saying the free chrage card is available! I've played with a few settings but it just won't work! it doesn't go through to paypal even though it says the total is something they need to pay?!?!

Could you edit the Modules ... Order Totals ... Low Order Fee ... and make sure that it is marked:

Allow Low Order Fee
Do you want to allow low order fees? true

Well just heck ...

I think there could be a *cough* bug on orders that are total $0.00 and $0.00 shipping ...

This trips the Free Charge vs allowing the other payment modules to appear as there is nothing to say ... oh by the way ... if I give it all away for free charge them a low order fee ... who knew ...

I will have to fool with this a bit to figure out a solution on this for you ... but I do not have the time right this minute to drop everything and fix it ... sorry ...

Might peek at the Minimum order and see if that can help you or else ... you will need a quick fix in the checkout_ pages or validation to not allow this to happen ...
