    Default Difference in homepage layout for IE & FF

    I'm wondering if anyone could enlighten me about why the homepage of my store looks fine in IE but displays extra white space towards the top in FF? It doesn't seem to be a problem in the category pages.

    Kind regards,
    James

    When these sorts of spaces open up in Firefox, it usually means that you are trying to cram more into a space that there is room for. IE also screws up when this happens, but often in different and less visible ways.

    I haven't tested this for your site, but I rather wonder if turning off the right column via Admin will allow enough room and solve your problem. At the moment it has nothing in it, but it is probably still taking some space even though it's invisible.

    If that doesn't work you could always stick the following at the bottom of whichever of your main stylesheets you settle on
    td.pageHeading, td.greetUser {display:none}
    Though I don't recommend this as it is only further masking the symptom, rather than treating the cause and could make things even more difficult later.

    I'm having a similar problem, though not exactly the same.

    the store is:
    http://store.madhouseminis.com

    running v1.3

    in firefox, the left and right column boxes seem to be wider than the wrapper, so on the left column spills over into the main body a little bit, while on the right side the lowest border is cut off, look at my screenshot for clarification of what I'm talking about (prolem areas have been highlighted)

    Note that the problem is not there in internet explorer, as shown by this picture:

    Thoughts? (let me know if this belongs in it's own thread, as I don't mean to thread jack)

    If we're strict about this, the problem is htere in FF and IE. It's just that IE tends to be a bit more forgiving about it.

    The problem is that you have defined your column and box widths to be the same , but then added a border to the boxes making them bigger. This is most eaily solved by a adding a few pixels to your column width under layout settings in Admin (about 14-15 lines down).

    Thanks! I didn't know that option was there. Sometimes it's hard to tell if something is to be changed in the admin or changed in the stylsheet
