    Default Order confirmation email

    On the order sent to our order dept by email does not show the credit card number. The customer inputs the credit card number on the shopping cart OK and it is accepted but when the order is emailed to our order dept it states payment method credit card but no number appears. Why not?

    Use the Split Card method ...

    This provides a safe and secure method of storing a portion of the card in the database and a portion of the card is send via email ...

    Note: when you become so overwhelmed with Credit Card orders that this is too hard to do, then it is time to get a real payment gateway ... Peek in the Services for some available options ...

    Thanks for the advise But I don't believe that is the kind of answer I was after. I need the Credit Card number to show on the e-mail sent to our order dept. There must be a file that needs code input to make that appear!!

    You should never send complete credit card information or any other critical information in an email since email is sent "in the clear" unencrypted and can easily be intercepted. If I was one of your customers, I would have a huge problem if I found out this is how you handled my CC number. You should realize that current laws make you responsible with any problems that result in the mishandling of credit card information. Not trying to be rude, just want you to make the right choice.

    As Linda stated, a payment gateway is a good, secure option for managing CC purchases.
