all of my products will be downloadable. I've created categories and added a few products, but can't find instructions on how to associate a downloadable file to each of my products. Can someone point me in the right direction, as I'm sure this has been discussed, but can't find anything on this.

Peek in the FAQs on Attributes and Downloads ...

You need to create an Option Name and then Option Value(s) for it ... then add these as Attributes to the Product with the proper Download filename ...
