Moving to new server

I am trying to move to a new server. all files installed ok. But when I back up database using myphpadmin, If I have the database installed empty on new server I get message after import "database already exists'
If I instal at new server under diferent name I get message after instal "instalation OK' But the databse is not there? Thanks, Appreciate any help!

Open the database file in a text editor and delete the first few lines about creating DATABASE.

Hi Ryk, thanks for that, I have got the database in, but on entry to admin I get this;

'1146 Table 'mydutyf_dutyfree.dutyfreeproject_version' doesn't exist '

where mydutyf_dutyfree is the new database name?
It wont load main page 'index.php'

Also when I use 'fix_cache_key.php' I get;
1146 Table 'mydutyf_dutyfree.dutyfreeconfiguration' doesn't exist

When you took a backup of the old database using phpMyAdmin did you select the option to make it compatible with a certain version of MySQL e.g. 4+ series. If you did this and are now trying to install on a server using MySQL 5 then you will have problems.

If you have the option of taking a fresh backup of the old database then try it again, and make sure that it is just saved as a raw MySQL file.

vger I am trying to move a 4.027 to 4.024 so versions are near enough the same? peak
