How can I set it up so I can give discounts only if the total order is above a certain amount.
Lets say I want to give product A a 25% discount only when the complete order hits $200.

You would need quite a bit of custom coding to base it on order total ...
There is a built in quantity per product discount, but not one based on total of the order on a per product basis ...
It can be done, but does not exist at this moment ...

Is your discount on all products regardless as long as the total is $200 or more? If so you could do that with a discount coupon.
Unfortunatly no, only on certain Items from certain manufacturers each month.
Is it certain items from certain manufacturers for a fixed amount for a fixed percentage of?

Each manufacturer has a Different discount and rarely there will be different discounts for different items. for example, Microsoft products might be 25% off, except mice which will be 10% off, OEM software excluded.
Of course only after your total order is over $200
Thanx
So much for the easy Discount Coupon method ...
Back to you need to write or have written for you some custom code to manage this for you ...

Yeh, Nothing is ever easy with this company, wholesaling is a totally different concept then retailing.
I am attempting to do something similar: I want to give a 20% discount to customers who purchase a particular item but I want the 20% only to apply only to accessory items. For instance, when someone buys a product that is over $X, they will get videos at 20% off.
Since the the featured items are much more expensive than the accessories, I created the coupon to apply after a specified amount is reached but I also created some restrictions so the discount would not apply to the featured product.
All seems fine in setup but when I go to checkout I am told that the discount has been applied but the totals do not reflect any discount.
This leads me to believe that when you set up a restriction on a coupon code, the cost of that item is not figured into the baseline amount you have set for the coupon. Is this true?
Thanks,
cpk
