You may already have already created an includes/languages/YOUR_TEMPLATE/english.php file. If not do so by copying includes/languages/english.php.

You can then edit copyright statement by changing the following line in the new file

define('FOOTER_TEXT_BODY', 'Copyright &copy; 2003-2006 <a href="http://www.zen-cart.com" target="_blank">Zen Cart</a>. Powered by <a href="http://www.zen-cart.com" target="_blank">Zen Cart</a>');

To delete the message "Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional" open the tpl_main_page.php in the "common" directory in YOUR_TEMPLATE (if it doesn't exist, create it by copying the version in template_default) and delete the following line

<p><a href="http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=referer">Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional</a></p>

I wonder if anyone can help with this error on my page. It seems to have come about after trying to change the copyright message: www.ivoryjjewellery.com/zencart.

Any help would be much appreciated. It is doing my head in.

Something is badly wrong with your includes/languages/english.php file. Firstly, do you have an includes/languages/english.php and an includes/languages/classic/english.php file? If so, have you checked that they are not corrupt? And what version of Zen Cart are you using?
