    Default Add New Catagory

    I am using 1.31 ver on a unix server and have a situation I have not found on other catalogs I set up. When you go to the admin panel of the catalog, the button that usually says "new catagory" is not there. The button that is there, is "new product". I was wondering if anyone might know why that is? This is a fresh install and I did look to see if all the files in the /english folder was transfered. They seem to be. Not sure if I have a setting wrong or what?

    The Categories are designed to hold Products or Categories but not both at the same time ...

    As this error occures time and time again, in v1.3.x we introduced a block to prevent adding Categories and Products at the same time to a Catagory ...

    When a Category holds a Product the New Category button is disabled ...

    When a Category holds a Category the New Product button is disabled ...

    Putting them together in a Category causes pricing and search issues ...

    You will want to fix your Products and Categories accordingly so that this mixed situation does not exist ...

    I thought that might be the reason, but wasn't sure. Is there a fix or do I just need to get all the products into a folder off the catagory list?

    Just need to move the Products to a Category and when cleaned up all will fix itself ...

    Peek at the Copy button when on these Products that need moving and click the Multiple Links Manager ... it may help you navigate through fixing these a bit better ...
