ea. ? what does it mean

What does "ea." mean. It's used to describe the quantity number in tags like BOX_SHOPPING_CART_DIVIDER & QUANTITY_SUFFIX

These are on the acccount history, your recent purchases sideboxes, and similar.

Just want to know if ea. is a legitimate business term that means something, or if its just short for "each"

I think this is a simplified or short form of "Each" or "Per".

Find them in short invoce tag of simple cashier. And invoices from firms used it also as a short form.
As some time used as:
1 ea. Some sample Items.
3 ea. Other sample Items.
or
1 X Some sample Items.
3 X Other sample Items.
or
1 @ Some sample Items.
3 @ Other sample Items.

Or
ea. price $xx
@price $xx
Per unit cost $xx
