Default Can I move the index page of the shop?

    Hi!

I have installed my shopping cart on www.mydomain.com/shop .

Now I want that when people go to www.mydomain.com they get to the shop automatically. One way to do this is to put a auto-redirect page in the www.mydomain.com directory.

I'm assuming this will create problems for search engines.

So is there a way to move the main page file in the /shop/ directory to the main domain directory from the admin panel?

    thanks and regards
    Rohit

download the files to your desktop

    open includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php

find and replace shop/ with nothing

then save and re-upload to your account root

Thanks! But do I have to download and upload all the directory files.. or will making the changes in these two files and uploading them back will fix things?

you need to get the core files into the root directory
if you dont want to use a redirect...

its Not a big deal download the sub directory, ( entire folder )
on desktop rename it public_html ( your root directlry file name if different )
    zip it
upload the zip, shouldnt take but a few mins, then unzip on the server

index page of domain to store. Had/has no effect whatsoever re search
    engines.. works fine

I'm trying to do something similar. I have a teststore that is setup and I want to change it from mydomain/teststore to mydomain/newstore. I'm not sure if I understand exactly what needs to be done. Do I need to copy all the files from /teststore to my computer, make changes admin/configure.php and includes/configure.php, then, upload into /newstore?
