Remove space below header

Thanks for the tip. I tried it in Firefox, but no luck. I'm really just fooling with a prototype for someone who probably won't use it, so it's really for my own experience/education.

I think it's got something to do with the logo. I should tinker with it some more.

According to kuroi, the underscore indicates that it's for IE only and doesn't interfere with other browsers (see kuroi's post earlier in this thread).

That version of the template seems to work ok. I'm not overjoyed with it, but I'll probably change it again at some point.

I too saw that and did some research because firefox throws an error with it set that way. Also, TopStyle throws errors for CSS levels 1 and 2, IE versions 4-6, Netscape 4/6, Opera 5/6, and Safari stating that

a "_" should not precede the property name.

Perhaps IE6 ignores an underline in the selector

TopStyle doesn't specify what "older browsers" will ignore the selector.

The url I sent you works in both IE and FF (as does the site in my sig). Other versions of that template either have the line in IE and not in FF or in both. Very odd. Since I'm playing with that mostly as an exercise for myself, I figure this is just part of the experience.

It can be VERY interesting.

In a side by side comparison with firefox and IE, the only visible difference is the text spacing of the main body and the space at the top of the categories box.

Question... Are both sites 1.3.7? I ask because both have the empty <li> in the breadcrumb and I thought that had been corrected.

Well, I finally had to make a move and move it to 1.3.7, my god, what a headache...

ok, white space issue as well showing in IE only and I've pretty well did all the tricks found here, so I'm missing something. Basically it's a complete redo of the current store.

So, any ideas for the white space issue in IE, it is just below header and shows as a break (about 1 px)

must admit, I really hate the way it takes to build templates, even though I know many find it easy, but so many differnet independant files create havock and I'm sure many would agree even with all the overrides.

Why can we not just have one index file and one css file for templates that would call up language files as required via the core. That way updates would not effect your template other then needing maybe modifications to match the core update.

Guy goes googly eyes after searching for what seems a easy adjustment...
