thats totally wierd. i upgraded the site on a test version. everything went well on the test site including the order confirmation email and new account email... on the live,,,NONE is working,,,,, aghhh

Are you saying that the "test" site was on the same server as your "live" site?
If so, are all the email settings the same on both?
What are the URL to these sites' zc_install/techsupp.php files?.
