    Default Can't see items in database after upload

    I have spent most of the day trying to do this upgrade.

    I have had Zen Cart 1.3.0 installed for several weeks.

    After customizing my pages and getting everything pretty much the way we want it to look, we added products. All was fine until we discovered that we could not delete a product.

    Checked the forum, found a note to upgrade to 1.3.0.1, then discovered that ZenCart is already at 1.3.0.2. Okay, we upgrade to that one.

    Downloaded the most current version from the web site.

    Backed up the database with phpMyAdmin.

    Created a completely new folder, installed the newest version of ZenCart.

    Used phpMyAdmin to upload the information that I had backed up.

    If I do a search with phpMyAdmin, I can find the items and sample customers in the data base now that I have uploaded the data base from the back up.

    I cannot see the items in the ZenCart Admin under Catalog>Categories/Products. I also do not see them in the new cart. All that I can see are the demo items that install with the new upgrade.

    I know that there is a step where I am supposed to click upgrade rather than install. But, that seems to be related to the upgrading of the text and content on my template pages rather than to the products in my catalog.

    I successfully moved image files from the earlier version to the newer version. These files are the same in the header on both versions so that i have my colors and the logo working. That is just a little bit of success, though.

    I have two separate data base files right now, one for each cart. I just can't seem to get the items that I exported and then uploaded to the new db file to appear.

    Did you use the Full upgrade for v1.3.0.2 or the changed files?

    NOTE: Changed files is *only* to upgrade from v1.3.0.1 to v1.3.0.2

    In addition to using the full upgrade, I believe I have successfully installed the program. All of the demo items are working. The demo items appear both in Admin>Catalog>Products and in the shopping cart itself.

    I want to be able to move my existing database items which are in version 1.3.0 to the new update of 1.3.0.2 so that I can continue adding products.

    I have moved them. When I search in the mySQL database using phpMyAdmin, I can find the products that I uploaded. However, I cannot see the real products for our store in the shopping cart or in Admin>Catalog>Products.

    Have you done the database upgrade from the zc_install directory?

    DO NOT do an install or you will wipe out your data. Just database upgrade.

    I haven't done that upgrade. I read the instructions to indicate that the "upgrade" install was for the inclusion of the changed pages. Is it also for the changed data base?

    I am a tad confused on the order in which you did things ...

    It sounds like you are saying you installed Zen Cart v1.3.0.2 into a new database ...

    Then after it was done, you loaded your old database ...

    If this is the case, then you have an old database vs the new database loaded ...

    You want to:

    1 create your new database

    2 load a copy of the old database into it

    3 run the Upgrade from /zc_install to upgrade your database to the new version
