I just added a new template.
Included was a new stylesheet but the old stylesheet is showing.
Where is this defined so I can make my website point to the correct stylesheet?

It's not defined. If you have a directory includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/css, any stylesheet in there will be picked up. To remove a stylesheet, simply remove it from that directory.Originally Posted by europod

Well this does not seem to be working as the stylesheet I have in this template is not ruling it seems.
The stylesheet which was the original stylesheet for the template I uploaded is still showing but where is my website getting this information from?
Can you give us a link to your site?

OK. Looks to me like there are some problems with your site structure.
Are you using a version of Zen Cart earlier that 1.3?
What is the path name for your template directory?
What directories do you have inside the template directory?
Where is your CSS file located?

I am using version 1.2.6
The template I added is meant for 1.2.7 but there was no extra files added between 1.2.6 and 1.27 just some changes to files that I did not touch.
The path for my template is /includes/templates/tm008
Within this I have
/blocks
/buttons
/common
/css
/images
/modules
/sideboxes
/templates
I have deleted the CSS stylesheet from /css as I wanted to see if it would make a difference. It appears that some of the colours have disaperred such as the backgrounds of the section headings in the left column. However the maroon background remains behind featured and new items and I have no idea where this is been defined.....
Confused!
You need to talk to the folks that created the template.
So if I understand you correctly you are having trouble achieving your desired styling through CSS on a template that you have purchased from template monster or one of their agents (if you're using the bootleg of this template that is floating around, then maybe you shouldn't be surprised that you're having problems - but hopefully that's not the case).
Having problems styling with CSS is not unusual. Often it's simply a case of making a change that seems like it should work, but not noticing that there is CSS elsewhere that is more specific than your change and therefore overriding it.
You have deleted your stylesheet, and as a result Zen Cart is defaulting to the template_default stylesheet instead. Here's where it gets a bit more interesting, because the template_default stylseheet has been heavily altered. Although the header shows it to be based that released as part of 1.2.6, it contains blocks such as thiswhich simply don't exist in the Zen Cart version. However, that explains the background color to your center column headings..centerboxheading, .singleboxheading {
background-color: #C32B2B;
height:22px;
width: 362px;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
font-size: 11px;
color: #000000;
font-weight: bold;
border-bottom:0px solid #FFFFFF;
border-top:3px solid #FFFFFF;
border-left:5px solid #FFFFFF;
border-right:5px solid #FFFFFF;
padding-left: 15px;
}
I suspect that the reason that you are struggling to get the stylesheet to work for you is because you have made some of your edits in the wrong place. I recommend first putting the stylesheet supplied with the template back into includes/template/tm008/css and if that doesn't produce the design that you were sold, then as Kim says, you should contact your vendor.
If that works however, put your adapted version in there instead and edit only that. If you are still having problems making it do what you want, come back here and say what specifrically isn't working and I'll see if I can help.
