    Zencart and MySQL 5

    Any issues with MySQL 5?

    Does ZenCart support MySQL 5?

My ISP is heading in this direction over the next few monthes. They are, however, taking their time because they know, full well, that many sites will break if they dump all the mysql servers into MySQL 5.

I have searched the forums and I see no mention of it.

Therefore - I bring it up.

Zen Cart v1.3.x and higher have better support for MySQL5 than prior versions did.

However, it is not officially supported.

You will find that if your host configures their MySQL5 such that STRICT_TRANS_TABLES is disabled, things will work without issue.

In MySQL configuration menus: Startup Variables / Advanced /SQL Mode
    Disable/delete the option STRICT_TRANS_TABLES

Test, test, test- check the login and checkout procedures, try everything in the Admin.

At least Colin99's host is hesitating before jumping into MySQL5. Some hosts seem to be the first to install the latest version of everything the day it's released - and it's their customers that pay for it.

    Vger
