That did it!!
I just had to un-comment out the $day = (int)substr($raw_date, 8, 2); line as it was generating some error logs.
I'm really happy with the above solution, just curious though, is there a way to get Zen Cart to show the name of the actual month instead of the digits? Eg: September/2021 instead of 09/2021.
