Send Email tool Does not work if Customer not subscribed.

I have found that the Send Email tool does not function if the customer is not subscribed to the newsletter.

This actually also affects the ability to send gift certificates and possibly coupons using the Zencart Admin.

I attempted to send a gift certificate to a customer who is not subscribed to any newsletters, and while the tool "said" it was sent, it never generated the gift certificate.

If, however, I try to send a gift certificate to a test entity that is subscribed to the newsletter, everything goes as planned. Incidentally, the same thing happens if I just try to send a plain email (taking the whole gift certificate thing out of the loop)

Anyone else noticing this?

If I go to the Gift Certificate/Coupons ... Mail Gift Certificate ...

And I manually type in an email address for:
Email To:

I send that Gift Certificate to that email address without any problem ...

What version of Zen Cart are you using?

Clean install or an Upgrade?

What add-ons do you have?

Hi Ajeh. We meet again

v 1.3.0.2
upgraded from 1.3.0 to 1.3.0.1 to 1.3.0.2 using the "upgrades only files"

Heavily modified with 3rd party modules including one called "newsletter subscribe" (in the downloads area)
I unfortunately do not have a clean install on a server that I can test.
But it sounds like it may well be something in one of my installed modules.

When I manually typed in an address, I had the same issue happen (no email delivered, no gift certificate generated.)

Well ... since it is always a good idea to have a play site ... this being a clean install of the current Zen Cart release in a clean database with the demo products ...

Now is a great time to test this and find out ...

Let's us know if it magically works from your clean Full Zen Cart v1.3.0.2 install ...

NOTE: those demo products will help you also in seeing how many, many features work with Zen Cart ...
