This seems more likely a bug in your Hosting company's configuration.

The "restrictions" they have in place say that you can only run scripts located in these folders:
the allowed path(s):
/domains/onlineherna.com/w/www
/webs/domains/onlineherna.com/w/www
/webs/upload
But the file that it's saying isn't allowed to run or locate is:
/domains/onlineherna.com/w/www/zc/includes/modules/sideboxes/classic/search.php
Unless I'm blind, this "allowed" path:
/domains/onlineherna.com/w/www
is part of the path you're attempting to access:
/domains/onlineherna.com/w/www/zc/includes/modules/sideboxes/classic/search.php

I think you need to talk to your hosting company.

If they're running your PHP with safe_mode "on", then there's not likely much you can do without switching to another host.

Hi,

this same problem happens to me too but it doesn't happen with classic template, only with my own template. The funny thing is that my own template is otherwise almost identical (in this state still) with Classic template.. I only have added the folder "templates" and "common" in my own template and I was starting to make modifications on it but saw that warning mentioned above as once as I used it.

and by the way, I do not even have any files in the path of the warning:

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/myserver/myaccount/html/shopnew/includes/modules/sideboxes/mytheme135/order_history.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/myserver/myaccount:/tmp:/usr/local/share/pear) in /usr/local/www/data/myaccount/html/shopnew/admin/layout_controller.php on line 237
sideboxes/order_history.php

So, I do not have any override folder of my theme in the modules/sideboxes

I made a test shop in the same server with a new database, under the same domain and made it as a pure new installation instead of upgrading like the other one.
This time I do not get a warning/error message at all in layout_controller page. I did not look if it would appear somewhere else but this is strange enough...

so I can't upgrade but I can install a new shop and using the same template that doesn't work without warnings for the upgraded shop. But I would need to upgrade indeed the shop!
