i push the manual currency update and for every currency i get this...
Warning: The primary exchange rate server (oanda) failed for United States Dollars (USD) - trying the secondary exchange rate server.
Error: The exchange rate for United States Dollars (USD) was not updated via xe. Is it a valid currency code?
this has only been happening since we put the new security updates in the other day.
can anyone help?

This is not related to the security patches.
Those activities use the PHP file() command to talk to the oanda and xe servers.
If your host has disabled the file function wrapper for PHP or blocked outbound port 80 traffic, you will not be able to use this option, and will have to manually determine the appropriate exchange rate values for each of your currencies..
