google translate for my shop

My client requested a translate for many different languages. I have modified the tpl_languages template to display a link to google translate.

Not the most mind blowing hack but it worked for me. Hope someone else can use it too :)

Hi do you also have the language images that are used in this module only at the moment when i look in my user tracking i get error as the images are missing from the install ie

I would like to add just some corrections for this module (just some typing errors I found).

Change this:

Franais into Français

Espaol into Español

Portuguese into Português

If there is problem with this extra letters ç, ñ or ê, please use ISO 8859-1 Character Entities (Entity Numbers).

Great contri, does just what it says on the tin,but it does have a (very) small problem attached.

Pages without translate are Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional
Pages with translate are not

I'm not sure just how important this is, or may be, but thought I ought to point it out.

Quite neat... but it (google) does not like it if the user translates; then tries to show a local currency.

TRY THIS: Translate into FRENCH, then try to show prices in EURO... Google throws back the ENGLISH version, with Euro prices. I imagine this has something to do with the default currency setting in zen, but does anyone know how this can be resolved?

Oh... by the way... If you find the ITALIAN translate option not working, there's a TYPO in the html on the tpl_languages.php file:-

On LINE 25 find - &langpairp=en%7Cit
And replace with - &langpair=en%7Cit

Works good until logging in secure. Anybody mod this to stay in the translation when logging in by ssl/https?

Hi,

Unfortunately the google translate was not not a 100% solution but more of a quick fix for my customer who wanted a fully blown translate system by google.

I would suggest you add different language files for a complete solution and let the shop translate for you :)
