Where to store images?

Hi everyone,

We are in the process of setting up large, medium and thumbnail images for all our listings and are not sure about exactly where they should be stored. At the moment we have them directly under the "images" directory, though I am not sure if they should be through "includes/templates/our-template/images/".

Will it be a problem keeping the images where they are or do we need to move them under our template in line with the override system?
