Default Shared SSL issue and Plesk

I've installed Zen Cart via FTP. After, in configure.php (and in the admin version) I've put in the path to the Virtual HTTPS Server. Now, when the "log yourself in" link is clicked on the homepage I receive this (example):

The requested URL /secure_folder/another_folder/index.php was not found on this server.

I've read that some hosts require Zen Cart to be installed on the secure server as well. Does this sound like the issue?

    Best regards,

    Patrick

Yes, in this case you will need a complete clone of your site in SSL.

Thanks for that. But why "in this case"?

Well... the initial upload was to a non-secure server, like most, I imagine. And as far as I can tell, most Zen Cart sites are like this, and all they do is to add the URL for the HTTPS_SERVER in the configure.php files when they require a secure checkout. So why in my case do I need two versions of the install? This doesn't seem feasible.

    OK,

If you are using a control panel like PLESK,
    it has 2 seperate folders
    1 for NON secure documents
    1 for NON secure documents,

you showed a server path that says secure site

the folks that only have to do a single folder install are the ones with cpanel and such that have a SINGLE folder and can serve both ports this way

Ah, okay. Thanks again. Is there a similar restriction with a dedicated SSL, where the secure pages would be h*tps://domain.com?

that depends ON the server setup you have
the setup of SSL for your server is a question to ask your host,

all are setup a little different,

Even that tired old workhorse Plesk can be set up so that you only need to use one folder for both http and https, but on most occasions:

    1. The hosting company doesn't know how to do it
    2. They don't care to do it because it doubles your disk space usage and brings you that much closer to a need to upgrade.
