    Default upgrade: zc_install/index.php = blank

    Hi,
    I'm upgrading a shop from 1_03 to 1_03_02.

I've uploaded all the files, including the zc_install. When I go to www..../shop/zc_install/index.php all I get back is blank file. I've tried modifying the .htacess & even removing it - no go!

If I go to ...shop/admin/index.php I get the following error msg - "Illegal Access".

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers,

    Eddie

Sounds like a bad upload of files via FTP ...

Try re-loading all of the files again ...

NOTE: If not upgrading from v1.3.0.1 be sure to use the FULL Zen Cart v1.3.0.2 download ...

    Hi Ajeh,
Thanks very much for the prompt reply. Unfortunately, re-uploading had no effect.

I think I might try a full zen upgrade - just in case it wasn't a 1_03 version as I thought.

    I'll upate my progress.

    Thanks again,
    Eddie

No success, so I installed 1.3_02 onto a new site.
Installation went ok. I deleted zc_install.
However, when I went to admin, again I got a blank page.

    Error logs have following:

PHP Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/application_top.php' (include_path='.:/lib/php') in /home/t/r/mydomain/public_html/shop/admin/index.php on line 23

PHP Warning: main(includes/application_top.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/t/r/mydomain/public_html/shop/admin/index.php on line 23

    Any suggestions?

    Eddie

    Permission denied
What have you done regarding permissions to files/folders?
Are your files set to 644 and folders to 755, or did you do some special settings manually?

What are the contents of your /admin/includes/configure.php file, without password?

    Hi DrByte,
Thanks for you input. I think the problem has been the ftp upload. I've dragged top level folders over (such as includes) and have since discovered that some lower level folders (classes, for example) have not been copied over.

So, I'm now going thro' each subfolder to ensure that every file, etc has been copied over correctly. I've never run into this problem before - not sure if its my ISP connection or the software (SmartFTP).

I'll update on progress - if nothing doing, I'll post as you suggest.

    Thanks,
    Eddie

// or webserver user has write privileges (chmod 666 or 777). We recommend using the "cache" folder inside the Zen Cart folder
// ie: /path/to/your/webspace/public_html/zen/cache -- leave no trailing slash
    define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'none');
    define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/domains/m/y/mydomain.co.uk/public_html/shop/cache');

Can you see anything obviously wrong?

I can get to the shop itself, but this has no styles, so it's not picking up the correct paths.

    Any help most welcome.

    Thanks
    Eddie

The most recent error is this:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zen_get_languages() in /home/m/y/mydomain/public_html/shop/admin/index.php on line 25

Again, this suggests that paths are incorrect or file has not been uploaded. Any idea which php file this function resides in?

    Ta,
    Eddie

    Yuck!

SmartFTP is notorious for dropping connections or not completing uploads.
