Hi there - success!!
1stly, I want to say thanks to DrByte & Ajeh. You offered me (& others) a level of support that I wouldn't hope for from a commercial product. I've worked for organisations that pay big time for products like Oracle, etc & the support is never this prompt. So, I owe you a coffee.
Now time to 'fess up. My problems had two basic origins. The biggest was that I thought I had 1.3.0 running whereas it was a 1.2.7. Hence attempt to upload only the changed files was doomed.
I then tried uploading the full fileset - that's where problem 2 started. SmartFTP loaded everything in binary (even tho' it was set to Auto mode) & then appeared to have randomly skipped files. Hence I was getting errors relating to files not being found.
So, I deleted everything, got Filezilla (DrByte!), & did a full install. I then went thro' my database dump & checked table structures btn old & new. If there had been no change, I populated that table from my back up. Fortunately, there was no real live data in the original database - just a few product details & test data.
So, I now have a working zen shop again & am busy customising it using the overrides wherever possible. My heart did sink when I got the security advisory note, but the changes didn't take too long.
One possible problem with the installer. It allows you to enter /forum for your phpBB forum path, but actually needs the full directory path /domain/public_html/forum (etc) for the link to show in the Information tab. Could this be addressed in a future release? Or at least a more explicit explanation on page?
Anyway, thanks again for all your help.
Cheers,
Eddie
