Hide or Password Protect only one Category?

They all Su.... I thought I had a better rate 2% until I ran into the mid qualified and non qualified transactions. That really was a dissappointment. Paypal was ok until the foreign transactions where they whack an additional fee on top of the percent.

I am no fan of paypal either

has anyone figured out how to do this (category hidden from all but a particular user group)? I'd really like to be able to have this feature, as I think it will solve my wholesale issues that I've been trying to fix forever. I need a two-tier wholesale pricing structure, and being able to set up a wholesale-only category that shows only to those in my wholesale group would then mean that I could use quanitity pricing in that category.

I´m thinking of installing a new zencart in new directory. (password protected directory)
do anyone know if it is simple to copy templates and databse?

Creating zencart, for wholesale members only, is easiest way.
It is possible to copy existing store, with database, and
create new zencart with that info, in different folder to your
existing zencart.
Only 2 configure files need changing to reflect this duplication.
You can then set that wholesale store for members to be approved to shop by admin only.

So I dont need to install a new whole zencart?

any tutorial how to make an new zen cart page?
and how to copy the store there?
can I use the same admin to change product info, prices etc?
what configure files to configure?

Yes you do, but use existing database from current zencart,
altering configure files to suit new cart for wholesalers.

Or you can use the hideCategory mod in Downloads (Free Add Ons button above). It is designed to hide products in a specific category from everyone unless you give them the link.
It wouldn't be as secure for wholesale use, though, if someone learned the link.

HideCategory wont do what i need.

question: if I use same database will it not make changes to the other cart aswell?
Or are the prices and product info saved somewhere else?
I don´t really understand this whole thing..

is it possible to copy the database later?
anyway a lot of manual work has to be done. f.eg copy all CUSTM templates and css etc

You create backup/copy of existing database.
Then CREATE new database..upload copy of existing database to NEW one you just created.
Then, in configure files of your NEW zencart site, set
to database and password details for this new database.
