How do you add to the links in the top header

Right next to the link for Home and Loging Seach, I'm trying to add Contact Us | Shipping Rates | Phone Number to the top header on all pages. I'm using Zen-Cart 1.2.6.

After studying the source code on many sites, I was able to use the Web Developers Tools to figure out how to do this, but I can't figure out where or what I need to upload it.
I'm using a custom template.

Do I have to edit just one file or many? If many, which ones exactly.

You are managing quite well. You'll have to adjust the code to move the search box to the right, that's why your links are bunching up like that. I think by turning on the search sidebox and turn off the header search, that may solve that issue.

You've probably heard many times already, but you really should upgrade your store to the newest version and current patches. It only takes one successful hack attempt to ruin what you have built.

Thanks, that fixed it.

Now if someone could help me to find out how to remove the gap at the top of the center column just above the main page. It looks ok with Internet Explorer on Windows, but has a gap when you view it with FireFox.

My client is anxious to get this site out there.

I believe it was the Greet User Section. I removed the text there and now have the big gap.

As for that padding problem, I'm not familiar with that old version, but I'm sure someone else will jump in with an answer.
