Default Can't install 1.32 but 1.27 is fine

I get the following message whn trying to install 1.32 -Client does not support authentication protocol

I have read the relevant faq's etc for this

I have zen cart installed on my hosting space and my client wants to upgrade to 1.32.

I have created a test area - ftp'd zen 1.32 up - set up a database however when I go to install I get a

Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

Does zen 1.32 use a different authentication protocol ?

Zen Cart doesn't determine or select which MySQL client to use.

Your PHP installation needs to be upgraded to talk to your MySQL engine properly.

These FAQ's talk about it in some detail:

Zen Cart uses PHP to connect to MySQL.

If your PHP setup isn't able to talk to MySQL then you'll get errors.

Zen Cart doesn't select which client to use. PHP does.

Your problems are outside of Zen Cart.

Sorted - the password to the database had to have a _ in the middle

    i.e

    sods_law

to enable it to go through - all is good again and hopefully this will help someone else who thought they couldn't install.

    Thanks
