Comment-out a section of My Account ?

Under the My Account page how can i comment-out this section:

Email Notifications

-Subscribe or unsubscribe from newsletters.

- View or change my product notification list.

Please have a look in your admin options. There are a 'zillion switches for turning the various parts and pieces off and on without touching the code in the files.

I seem to have accidentally gotten rid of that section of the My Account page and would like it back. Where in the Admin is the option to turn those settings on and off?

Through Customer Details I was able to turn on "View or change my product notification list" (Benjames - go to admin > configuration > customer details and set "Customer product notification status" to 0 to turn it off) but I have yet to find anything that will put back the option to edit newsletter subscriptions...
