    Default Changing hosts

I'm changing host because my current host wil not support me.

I was about install ZC when I realized that it is listing the IP rather than domain name under the system setup page of the installer. I haven't changed name servers yet because I was wanting to get my new host setup first.

Can I change the http://my_ip, https://my-ip, etc. to http://mydomain, etc?

Even though DNS has not been change to reflect the new host?

Or should I leave it as the IP and install it anyway and change the domain name info later.

Or do I need to change the name servers first and install it once my domain has been moved to the new host?

    Confused in OK.

    Thanks.

You can use your IP address in the configure files for set up and such and then change them to the domain name after propagation.

I do this a lot for clients who are installing new sites / carts.

    Hope that helps.

So how do I get all my links to change from teh IP to the domain name? I've made the changes in configure.php but all the sidebox links are still pointing the IP.

    They shouldn't be ...

Unless you edited something weird. The links are built dynamically based upon your configure files so they should fix when you fix the configure files

I was missing the second configure.php in public_html/includes.

I just found it and it works now.

    Thanks!
