    Default 1.3.5 database and 1.3.0.2 Zen ??

upgraded from 1.3.0.x to 1.3.5 - did database upgrade - everything went fine. Easy and no problems. When I check admin/server/version info - it says Zen 1.3.0.2 but database 1.3.5. Everything seems to be working - is this normal or did I miss something? Thanks.

You upgraded *all* of the files including the version.php?

No, all I did was use the "Database Upgrade" option. That seemed to be what the instructions were saying for an existing store. I have 'template over rides' in place. Should I 'install" or just look for the changed files and over write them. Thanks for your help.

Did you do a binary ftp upload, we had the same problem, we installed an affiliate program using filezilla, on auto, got all sorts of problems, when we looked at there docs they suggested using binary upload.

We tried this on ZC and hey it worked.

Get filezilla and upload using binary. dont know why on this version we need to use binary ftp? but it solved our problems

    All the best

I think you missed the point of my question. I did the 'database upgrade' option which seemed to be following the instructions. If I do the 'install' option - AND I already have 'over rides' in place, - will the result be Zen and database matching versions of 1.3.5 and my store intact? Thanks

No you need to replace all of the core files (at the very minimum the changed files) and then run a database upgrade.

Of course that is a down and dirty way to do it.

The BEST way to upgrade is to :

    1) Upload new zen into a seperate folder and install with a CLEAN databse

    2) Using PHPMyAdmin export your original database

    3) Using PHMyAdmin drop all tables from your new database

    4) Using PHPMyAdmin Import your old database to your new

    5) Go Back to Zc_Install and use UPGRADE DATABASE

    6) Reinstall mods / template / over rides

    7) TEST TEST TEST

    8) If all is well shut down the live store for maintenance and drop in an index.html in case someone decides to visit for a bit

    9) Move your NEW zen to the proper directory for your live store by deleting the old and replacing it. (don't forget to change includes/configure.php and admin/includes/congifure.php)

    Hope that helps

    i'm having the same problem.

How would I do this when I can only have 1 database through my host?

I've tried installing 1.3.5 first, and then importing my database, but it won't upgrade when i do that.

No matter how I install 1.3.5, my database is not showing.
It will only show if I upgrade the database with 1.3.0.2 Zencart installed, but then my Zencart doesn't upgrade to 1.3.5.

    Hi.

I dont know what Im doing wrong but Im having a nightmare.
I have tried to follow the directions above, but when I go to my home page and try to install it says page not found.

I uploaded zen into the root directory on my server, but when I try to type in the URL www.woodgatebookcabin.com/zc_install it says page not found.
When I copied the directory from my file manager in cpanel, and pasted it into the address bar:

    http://www.woodgatebookcabin.com:208...06/zc_install/

it just opens up capanel at the zc_install folder.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Chris
