upgraded and now nothing shows...

I finally upgraded to 1.3.5 and nothing shows up now as far as categories and how my site was setup. I did use the override system, and the colors for my site are showing up right, just nothing else. (I think it's something to do with the database?)

Is there something I need to do with the 1.3.0.2 stylsheet and the 1.3.5 stylesheet to get my site showing how it was before the upgrade?

please tell me you backed up the database before the install. The categories won't show up if theres' nothing to show, as in you nuked the database with the install. If you pointed the install to your current database when installing it will drop the tables and write new ones.

yes, yes I did. I made a backup of my database last week. Actually I have 2 backups of the fileset AND the database...just in case

It looks like the database isn't showing up on the site, I restored it via the bakcup mysql mod.

I would try using phpmyadmin to go into your database and drop all tables, basically empty it out. Then import the most recent backup. Then run the install again, making sure to select the database upgrade, cause currently you have a 1.3.5 site with a 1.3.0.2 database restored into a 1.3.5 database . Do This manually in phpMyAdmin not with the restore function of the backup mySQL mod. I did the same thing recently so don't feel bad, at least your backups were more recent then mine.

I would also consider reverting back to previous version and re-read the instructions on upgrading.

I even started from scratch with a fresh install -- and now I have no products, no customers, no ANYTHING. I get no errors when installing / connecting to the database. I know all the info is in the database (in phpMyAdmin) -- but nothing shows up in ZenCart since the upgrade to 1.3.5.

Help? Please?

I finally figured my problem out so maybe i can help you...

What fixed my problem was setting the FTP transfer type to Binary. I have no idea why but another user suggested this and it worked.

I don't know what FTP program you are using but if it's Filezilla it defaults to upload php files as ASCII....So changed the Transfer Type to Binary, THEN do a database upgrade....and it should upgrade your database AND Zencart.

I believe my problem has to do with modifying these files:

/includes/configure.php

and

/admin/includes/configure.php

Problem is, they don't exist. (They did before, but the last FOUR times I've tried a fresh install, they simply do not. Do I need them? I have no idea. What do I edit on them, if I do need them? I have no idea. I've tried copying the old versions of these files to my server -- no luck. Experimented with modifying them -- even less luck. ...)

This Zen-Cart business might just too complicated for me.

p.s.: for FTP, I'm using "Transmit" version 3.5.4 (on a Mac) -- the Transfer Mode was set to "Auto," so for a minute I had indeed hoped that setting it to "Binary" as you said might work. [sigh.]

If you look in the two configure.php file ...

Check what database name, username and password are being used as well as if you are using a prefix on the table names or not ...

Make sure everything matches ...
