This is happening on one of my carts right now as well but I've determined it had to do with www versus no www. Access the site with www.domain.name and there's no id in the url. Access it without the ww and the zenid pops up only in the ezpages sidebox- not the footer or header.
I just ran into it again after changing the fist page back to the original index page from one of the category pages as index.
Any ideas about this? I can't remember if I did something last time to fix.

I've found a couple links that people have posted on various sites for products they like, that have the zenid in the url they posted.
Hi Ajeh, (tried to edit above but left it too long)
I have just done a little test:-
It appears that the zenid is only visible once someone has logged into the site... UNLESS ...for guests it seems to work fine until they click on a link to the checkout at which time the zenid is visible.
If the guest clicks on categories the zenid is visible.
Visiting the homepage makes the zenid vanish and only re appears if you visit a page that is account dependent, like "my account" page or the checkout.
This is both with and without the SEO Url's on.
any ideas ?
regards
Jamie
I am also having this problem, and so working from what delia has said, I edited the .htaccess file with the code below so that anyone entering the site without the www, will be diverted to the www version. It works perfectly on the front end, only problem is that I can no longer login to admin. Upon trying, it simply refreshes the login page.
I placed this at the end of the .htaccess file. Any ideas why this is stopping login to admin?
Many thanks!Code:RewriteEngine On rewritecond %{http_host} ^dermacia.com.au rewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.dermacia.com.au/$1 [R=301,L]

check your config file for admin and make sure you have it set for www
I believe my situation has something to do with the link manager contribution as these are the only 2 sites I have this mod on.
Thanks for the idea for the htaccess file. Let me know if you find that the admin config file is your present problem.

Thanks Delia, your a genius, as that did fix the problem.
Only thing is I have a new problem with it now.
I am back to the same problem as before with the additional string after the .html and the 404 error, but ONLY in IE7. Firefox is not doing it.
I went back to check the 'Enable SEO URLs?', and its value was blank, which was very strange. I enabled it again, but it still hasn't fixed the problem.
I tried undoing the change in the admin config just to be totally sure, and of course that makes no difference.
Kind Regards,
Andrew

I have just upgraded a different clients ZenCart from 1.3.7, to 1.3.8, and the same problem with the additional string being added on. It was working perfectly with 1.3.7...
