I am having a problem with the Price Attributes.
I created a product priced by attributes. Created
values: Price Level, then A-F, each adding $ to the total.

    http://www.cybermidi.com/catalog/index.php...roducts_id=3099

Now when I click add to cart, the Sub-Total only shows the attribute price, not the full price.

Is this a bug or have I set something wrong somewhere?

    TIA

Is the Product $60 and then you add:

    A $0
    B $15
    etc.

If so this is not Priced by attributes.

I am assuming you have a Product Price of $60

Turn off the Priced by Attribute.

That is used only for when there is no Product Price and the Product Display Price should be built from the lowest price of the Option Values in each of the Option Names.

    Sure thing.

Somethings you do need to price by attribute because there is no other way to interpret the initial price.

But other than those ... usually Price by Attribute is always No and you use the Products Price plus the attributes for everything.

Glad you are back on track :)

Is there any easy way to add an attribute to an entire category?

    I have a checkbox option:
    'Option1' -> {'Value1 (+$2.00)', 'Value2 (+$1.00)'}
and I need every product in category XYZ to have these checkboxes with the given prices. I can add this to each individual product, one at a time, or update the products that already have the attribute, but i don't see how to add the attribute to more than one product at a time.

    thanks!

Make a fake product (I set this to Out of Stock so it doesn't appear in the Catalog) ... Add the attribute to it.

Then do a Copy Attribute Update without deleting to a category and the 1 attribute will be copied to all products in that category.

Note: Be sure to always make backups of your database before attempting new things :)

Thank you Linda! That is exactly what I wanted. I completely missed that whole box of update/delete options.

    Thanks again!

Basically, this whole system is way to confusing and ambiguous, and not visually laid out very well. It would be nice if it got an overhaul to make it more intuitive and explanitory...like maybe little 'explain this' links and better organization (perhaps less seperation?). It seems to have a lot of power, but there are a lot of problems with it being to techy and messy. For instance, the clients that need to maintain this site are friggin' lost when they hit a screen that looks like any of the three to manage attribs. It would be real nice if the admin section got seperated into a 'store manager' section, for lay people who just want to manage their products, and a techy section for us people who set up everything else.

mqtclct, no disrespect meant, but you do realize that ZenCart is Open Source? This isn't a corporation of coders. It's a collaboration.

On the other hand, I found the attributes section a little on the confusing side as well.
On the third hand, I'm incredibly greatful for all of the work done to ZenCart and will gladly deal with a little confusion. Sure as hell beats coding it myself (which would take me years!)
