    IE5 mac and konqueror problems

    Being fairly new to CSS I think i'm doing fairly well but still a couple of problems which I can't get to the bottom of,wondered if anyone had any ideas:

    Its ZC1.2.6 (tables). Site www.spiralsofabundance.com
    should look like www.simondale.net/spirals/IE6PC.jpeg

    IE5 Mac
    (www.simondale.net/spirals/IEmac.jpeg)

    corner images in headerNav table are positioned by
    .cornerfix {
    position: absolute;
    top: 0px;
    left: 0px;
    }
    similarly for the right. These should align to centerShop.
    Fine in all other browsers but in IEmac they dont take the position.

    Konqueror
    (www.simondale.net/spirals/konq.jpeg)

    I added padding: 0px 50px; to the 750px wide centershop and set the body's width to 850px. This means that I can use a 850px wide bkgr for the centershop and have 50px side borders on the bkgr image. In konqueror though the padding doesn't show....?

    Thankyou very much
    Simon

    simondale, the site looks great, though I'd recommend removing or coloring anything that looks white (e.g. the search box background amongst others), but why are you worrying about IEmac?

    IEmac is a buggy, ill-behaved runt. Even its parent, Microsoft, has now disowned it (they call it withdrawing support). Its user base is estimated to be significantly less than 0.5% and falling rapidly and they must be used to seeing sites in rather less than perfect states as it's rather difficult to deal with the problems that this browser throws up and most people sensibly no longer bother.

    Rather than waste your time hacking your site to fit this marginal browser, I'd recommend that you apply your obvious talents to making your site still better for the more discerning 99.5%+ of internet users.

    Thank you, I feel much better. Will try to convince the client its ok shame she only has IE5 and safari 1.1,and that is causing a problem too.The headerNavigation collapses upwards to only the height of the nav text rather than the height given in

    TABLE.headerNavigation {
    background: transparent url(../images/header.jpg) no-repeat;
    padding: 0px;
    height: 177px;
    width: 100% !important;
    }

    Maybe I just tell her to upgrade her software and don't worry, or maybe somebody knows what this is. I can't find it out there,have tried

    Thanks again
    Simon

    PS it only happens in safari 1.1.
    1.2 and 1.3 are fine
